Apple CarPlay / Android
MMI vs MMB vs Replacement Screen

MMI Box
For cars without CarPlay or Android Auto
An MMI box (also called a CarPlay box) is the more widely used method of adding Apple CarPlay and Android Auto to a car. The box plugs into the back of your factory screen and allows you to switch between your original screen and the new software.
The main benefits of the MMI box are that it's the cheapest way to add an aftermarket reverse camera to your car and that it has a HDMI input to display an external device on your factory screen (PS5/Firestick etc)
MMB Box 11
Add Android Auto to cars already with Apple CarPlay
If your car comes out of factory with Apple CarPlay then an MMB box adds Android to your factory screen, meaning that you can install apps like Waze, YouTube and Netflix as well as using Android Auto. An added bonus is a HDMI output to copy your screen onto rear headrest screens, or to plug into your TV at home

These boxes are recommended for cars with touchscreen systems already installed to help navigate the UI, but a bluetooth remote can be added to your order as well

CarPlay Screen
A big screen with a built in MMI box
Very similar to an MMI box, this screen adds Android Auto and CarPlay to your car but with the added bonus of giving you the biggest size screen possible for your car model. The disadvantage being that the manufacturer only make these screens direct fit for select models and other cars will require the double-din option
Android Screen
The ultimate screen upgrade
A replacement screen which runs both your car's original system as well as android simultaneously. Apps can be installed to the screen directly, like an MMB box, but you can also use Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, like an MMI box.

These screens are not available for every model of car, but there is a model available for most. Although it is the most expensive option, it is also the best product for overhauling your car's multimedia system and the screen even comes with a built in DSP
